Today is a sad day because I'm going back home after a 5-month work assignment here in Phoenix. I've lived at San Melia for 5 months and I loved everything about it. From the office personnel who are so friendly and helpful (special thanks to Katie), to the maintenance folks who come to repair small problems in a jiffy and what can I say about the facilities except WOW! I only used the gym a few times but it is top notch. I used the pool area a lot more and it was wonderful. My apartment itself was perfect to suit my needs and being on my own, I always felt safe here at San Melia. I would definitely recommend San Melia to anyone who is so lucky as to move in the Ahwatukee area of Phoenix.

Great place to live, convenient, well kept, safe, great amenities, close to shopping, dining, and entertainment. Lot's of things to do in the community of San Melia, hot pool area, and fitness center is very nice. Improvements over the last year have made it even better. Ahwatukee is a beautiful community of Phoenix. Located close to great hiking at South Mountain Park it's one of the best places to live in Phoenix. San Melia has close proximity to the freeways and shipping at 2 malls that are less than 10 minutes away. Lot's of restaurants, shopping, theaters, and entertainment. Wouldn't hesitate recommending San Melia to anyone. An excellent community for families and singles.

I would say the pool area, gym and office is very nice. The apartment is old and would need some renovation. Air conditioning works good only in some places in the apartment. The furniture if you rent it is not worth the price. The beds are terrible and the style not very nice. Ok for temporary living but I would choose another place if I knew I was going to stay for a long time.

I feel like I live in the resort! This is Ahwatukee living at its best. San Melia is a community that is both safe and fun for my family. It is truly an oasis in the desert. I have enjoyed three years of living here, mainly because the staff members that I have met have been kind, courteous and professional. With the addition of amenities that are offered, hands down, San Melia is the place to live.

It's a great place to live. Conveniently located to everything, nice people, and it's in Ahwatukee!!! The grounds are gorgeous, fitness center is wonderful, resident events held throughout the month by San Melia Staff , so there is never a dull monent. Renovations to the pool and the fitness center shows why we have one of the nicest pools around. The apartments are very nice, but some of the items like worn cabinets, flooring that should be replaced, should update sink fictures, ceiling fans, lighting, should be updated to include lighting. Fans in the rooms, but there are no lighting kits on them, 4in the rooms. Ceiling fans should have light kits on them. I understand you could get all these things replaced, but it'll cost you a pretty nice premium to do so, and I believe the price I'm paying for rent is to high now. Especiallyfor what I'm gettng. This is the only complaint I have with San Melia. Say what you say, do what you say!!! Still waiting for my carpet to be replaced, cabinets repaired, stripped, and resurfaced. Have corresponded with Julie many times and have not heard anything from her and to think that this was a condition of renewing my contract to stay another year. Well we're 10 months into my lease and nothing has happened. NOTHING!!!

I am very happy that I chose San Melia over a number of other apartment properties. The environment is very open and wide-spaced, the residents and staff are friendly and open. The amenities are upscale, and the location is perfect for me. I would definitely recommend.

My family and I have been living in San Melia for close to 5 years now and we just love it here! For an apartment that was no longer owned by Mark Taylor after moving in, this place still held up nicely. Landscapers and staff help keep this place maintained for the most part. We’ve always enjoyed our stay here but the recent transitions have made it even more enjoyable! With the giant pool now come more relaxing outdoor furniture with wi-fi, BBQ’s, and a flat screen television to go along with the beach setting. To be honest, I enjoyed the gym before it was remolded as it does lack some machines now but it’s still very spacious with plenty of exercises including aerobics can still be done. The TV’s on all cardio equipment is top-notch and the training sessions that can be purchased are nice options. However out of everything I would say I enjoy the clubhouse the most! Before the clubhouse was dull and boring with not much to do and always needed a reservation. Now well reservations can still be made, the clubhouse is open to all residents 24/7 with plenty to do! From the three LG, LED flat screen televisions, to the marble kitchen counter-tops and stainless steel appliances, to the hardwood flooring, the clubhouse has become a top hangout spot! Not to mention the computers, wi-fi, and pool table are widely popular for hang out. The office also does a great job keeping residents entertained with several promotions a month including movies, drinks, food, and volleyball. The pros are that the people are friendly, the community is quite, the security does there job and enforces the rules, and the office staff is friendly. The cons would be that security needs to work later hours especially after midnight. There has been stuff stolen in the past on more than a few occasions and several trespassers jumping fences late at night. They have security cameras everywhere however I am not sure if they review them on a regular basis. Maintenance can be slow at times endless it’s an emergency and the office doesn’t get stuff done endless they right it down. All in all San Melia is a beautiful community to live in. That is if you can afford it! Prices have skyrocketed because of property value increasing. A friend of mine’s rent was raised $400 and my family and I are doubtful if we will stay if are rent is raised. We’ve never really called any other place home and don’t want to leave anytime soon. That’s how nice this place is. Do take advantage of all San Melia has to offer outside of your apartment because that’s about all your rent is going to get you. I really don’t need to spend extra money to have my walls painted a different color or my carpet taken out for hardwood flooring, or my florescent lighting ripped out of my kitchen for four dimmer lights.

In the short time that we've lived here, I would say that the amenities are really nice. We enjoy going to the pool and using the gym and clubhouse. The community is quiet, which is a nice change from where we used to live. Our neighbors are friendly, and we can always find parking in the complex. We like the organized activities and look forward to participating in more activities in the future. This is a great place for us right now since we just moved here from another state; it is comfortable and safe.

I would tell them that San Melia is quiet, luxurious, and a well-kept secret. It is not advertized on many of the apartment- listing websites, which I think is a good thing. We have such nice apartments that I don't want to share with outsiders! Our experience here has been nothing short of wonderful.
