It’s an exciting time to live in a Detroit apartment with its unique and history. Serving as Michigan’s largest city, Detroit is known as the automotive center for the United States for its historical and continuing role in the American auto industry. The biggest U.S. auto names –General Motors, Ford and Chrysler—have Detroit as their headquarters. If you’re into the auto industry, living in a Detroit apartment for rent may be for you.

Detroit is located near the Canadian border and is the only major U.S. that lays North of Canada territory. During the U.S. Civil War, its access to the Canadian border served a large purpose for the Underground Railroad that helped black slaves escape to Canada. Today, Detroit’s waterside features a high–rise cityscape with art deco and neo–gothic styles such as the Comerica Tower, the Renaissance Center and the Guardian Building.
