Great place to live. Luxury apartment and we are very comfortable and happy here. It was an adjustment from living in a house for over 20 years. We have all made the adjustment - even our two cats. Looking forward to going in the pool.

To put it simply, I can't wait to move out!! I have had nothing but aggravation from the staff here at Avalon of Watchung. The maintenance team is a joke, the leasing office staff can't keep their ducks in a row and get anything straight, and they charge a ridiculous amount of money for apartments that haven't been updated in over a decade. If you want to get a constant run-around, and fed a laundry list of lies by the staff here then feel free to move in. I am counting down the days until I can move out.

Some of the perks offered with your rental payment are: Paper thin walls that allow you to hear every noise Nickle and dime charges for everything from trash collection (is that really optional) to sewer fees that are not disclosed in the rent up front Fire alarms that go off in the middle of the night at least once per month because of the poor design of the building A clueless corporate office staff that has an error in 2 out of 3 bills $550 in move out charges for cleaning, painting and carpet cleaning, or basically items that other apartments view as the cost of renting an apartment 60 Days required notice when you move out which you have to pay the rent through (basically designed to charge you for turnover time) Building lights at night that shine right into your bedroom because of the poor design The only redeeming aspect of the building was how nice everybody in the on-site office is.

Great building overall. Pay for the amenities and space, not finishes. Very loud but would recommend it. Train makes noise and noise coming through from upstairs and front door, can't hear next door neigbors. Staff is very responsive and helpful. Kitchen appliances are very cheap, there should be a microwave and our counter should have been replaced before we moved in. Should have been informed about concrete walls as makes it hard to hang things. An exterior vent makes constant knocking noise and buidling is not able to fix which causes some issues.

It's a nice community. The location is great for me because I walk up the hill to work. The staff is very accomodating and things get done quickly. In the summer I really enjoy the pool area and sitting out and cooking out. My one complaint is the location of my apartment which is facing Facset. It is very noisy. There is never a time we can just open the windows or keep the deck door opened.
