The buildings are old and need some up-dating ( some of the outside lights are not working). The cabinet doors look like a dog has chewed the bottoms. It would be great to have pocket doors for the laundry area. It is noisy in the whole apartment when you are doing laundry. Everyone is nice to deal with (office) and maintenance is great (Dante). It is fairly quiet for an apartment and the closet space is great. I have covered parking close to my apartment and that is great. They keep the complex clean and neat and trash is hauled off in a timely fashion. As far as I know, there has not been any major problems since I moved in the last of October.

Fairly decent priced and that it is a pretty quite complex. The office staff is very friendly and helpfull.

THERE ARE ONLY A FEW THINGS THAT NEED TO BE WORKED ON IN THE APT COMPLEX. AFTER DARK IT IS VERY DARK WALKING TO AND FROM YOUR APT., AND THE SPEED WITH WHICH PEOPLE DRIVE IS WAY TOO FAST. SOMETIMES YOU ALMOST GET IN A WRECK TRYING TO BACK OUT OF YOUR PARKING PLACE. OTHER THAN THAT ALL IS VERY WELL.

I would say that it has been one of the most convenient places I have ever lived. It is very accessible to both 30 and 35 (if you take Belknap). I love being able to walk to downtown or run down to the Trinity river. Also, the groundsa re always well maintained, pretty, and clean! I think parking for residents sometimes gets a little annoying when guests take up all of the front spots. I also think that the acoustics are not ideal-I can definitely hear every move my upstairs neighbor makes and even hear word-for-word conversations of people out in the community hallway. Otherwise, the maintenance/service has been great. Oh, and Ygnition-the cable provider-is one of the worst I have ever dealt with, so if Firestone gets rid of them then they will EXPONENTIALLY increase the happiness of the residents.

It's convenient to both downtown and West 7th (location is perfect!). The rent is reasonable, the apartments nice, and the gym and pool are great. Our neighbors are social, and there are events to hang out with other neighbors, which is great.

My husband and I sold our house and were dreading renting an apartment again while we figured out where we wanted to go and we promised it would only be a year because we know what apartment living is like and we knew we wouldn’t be able to handle it however...if they had wood floors, and a little bit more storage closets we would live her forever and forget about buying another house. The office staff is probably the nicest people I have met in a long time...truly nice, genuine, and not like the rest...we have looked at a lot of apts and you either get the fake smiles and “everything is wonderful at our apts” or you get the ones that it is just my job & I leave at 5 so just hurry up...the staff are wonderful and I can’t say enough about them. We wanted a place that was nice inside and out, clean, quite, a nice view, good lay out, enough room, a nice porch, and even the stuff you don’t think about...light fixtures, ceiling fans, arches, upgraded doors, cabinets, pretty door knobs...it makes a huge difference. I am proud to have friends over b/c I don’t hear my neighbors ever actually...which I guess could be weird. The neighbors we do have are so nice and just a different class of people; we have even had a couple of them over for dinner just b/c they are so nice in passing. My husband and I said we would pay extra to make sure there aren’t clunker cars, trash everywhere, and not to have teenagers partying at all hours of the night...but to be honest we haven’t had to pay that much extra. The only downfall is I wish it had more storage coming from a house and I wish it had wood floors...other than that...it’s perfect.

I haven't lived in apartment for 20 years and was very hesitant to do so again. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I visited Avington Park and even more pleased after I moved in! I love that the quality of the apartment is above average and the decor is top notch. The fact that the complex is small and the agents, maintenance and on-site police officer know everyone by name is a definite perk! In general, the people renting at this complex are older, wiser and more respectful of others! I've never had a problem with noise or trash or "inappropriate behavior". Perfect for adults, but suitable for children too. I disagree with the "paper thin walls" comment from a previous poster. I never hear my neighbors and I doubt they ever hear me!

What seperates this apt. complex from the 20 others in this area is their maintenance team. Despite the water breaks, leaks, and paper-thin walls, anything that has gone wrong, they've been there within 10 mins. Even at 1am in the morning, they respond, are always nice, and tremendously effective. Manager is good and does well in crisis mode, and leasing agents were great. However, everyone we knew is now gone, hopefully, the same quality of service and making the person feel llike they matter will still exist. Great location and has a police officer living in complex - also great. Hopefully, the new leasing team will take notice from the maintenance people and set this property aside from the rest!
